ABOUT THE SUMMERFEST TRIATHLON
This triathlon is part of the Triple Threat Series. Athletes do not sign up for the 3 triathlons individually. Instead go to this link and sign up for the Triple Threat, which will enroll you in the the Black HIlls Triathlon, SummerFEST Triathlon and Pacific Pathways Triathlon. The 7th Annual Lakewood SummerFEST Triathlon, presented by St. Clare Hospital, is held in Lakewood, Washington, and is a fun and competitive sprint triathlon open to participants 15 years and older.
Training Program Offered
Sign up for our new Triathlon Clinic. Pick either date: June 9 or July 7 at 10am at Lakewood City Hall. The trainings are designed and facilitated by Marc Chung, Certified USAT coach. To register go to this link.

3.1-mile RUN at Fort Steilacoom Park
Start & Finish:
The race will start at 9:00am along the shore of American Lake and end at Fort Steilacoom Park. There are 2 transition areas.
Friday, July 13, 8:30am-5:00 pm at Lakewood City Hall (6000 Main Street SW, Lakewood, 98499 room 1E) and Saturday July 8, 6:30am -8:30am at American Lake Park. You must be present and show your picture ID in order to pick up your race packet! Friends/relatives are not allowed to pick up your packet for you.
Race Day Schedule:
The race has two transition areas.The swim begins at American Lake Park 9222 Veterans Drive SW 98499, which is Transition 1. Transition 2, where athletes place their bikes and begin the run, is at Fort Steilacoom Park 8714 87th Ave SW, 98499. Racers place their belongings for the run at transition 2 (Fort Steilacoom Park), and can either take a free shuttle, or ride their bikes to American Lake Beach Park where the race begins.
- 6:30am – 8:45am: T1 and T2 areas open for gear staging. Only racers with body numbers and wrist bands may enter the transition areas for staging their own gear.
- 6:30am – 8:20am: Shuttle bus running from Fort Steilacoom Park to American Lake Park. Swim begins at American Lake Park 9222 Veterans Drive SW 98499.
- 8:35am: Racer Count-In
- 8:45am: Racer pre-race briefing
- 8:50am: Open Water Warm Up
- 9:00am: RACE START
Join a spectacular festival and triathlon! Volunteers receive a t-shirt and community service hours. We need about 50 volunteers to assist us with various portions of this event.
