Welcome to Capital City Marathon, one of the best marathons in the Northwest. Located in fun and friendly Olympia, Washington, we feature a beautiful course with rolling hills, enthusiastic volunteers, a festive post-race event with food, music, massage and swag. We are a Boston Marathon qualifier with a loyal following of marathon veterans, newcomers and everyone in between.

Capital City Marathon Association (CCMA) is a non-profit all volunteer organization.

Shirts are manufactured six weeks prior to the event; therefore, we are not able to guarantee sizes. Runners who register Saturday before the race are not guaranteed a shirt.

PARTICIPANT NOTES:

No Day-of-Race registration, race changes only.
No refunds, substitutions, or carry-overs.

For safety and insurance reasons: no dogs, no strollers, no bicycles, no roller blades, no in-line skates, and no wheeled vehicles (except registered wheelchairs). Violators may be disqualified.

The use of personal music devices are strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, the Capital City Marathon Association encourages a headphone-free environment while running any of the races.

There are no walking categories, but walkers are welcome in the Half Marathon and Five Miler.

Runners must be at least 16 years old to run the Marathon and at least 14 years old to run the Half Marathon.

Marathon runners must maintain a pace of 14:30 minutes per mile (or faster) to complete the event before the course closes at 1:30 p.m. (approx. 6 1/2 hours). Runners unable to maintain a 14:30 pace should enter the Half Marathon.

Number of runners

We expect to have about 350 in the Marathon, 1,400 in the Half Marathon, and 600 in the Five Mile. Training groups for the Marathon and Half Marathon begin the second week in January.

Headphone Guidelines from Road Runners Club of America

We believe your race experience and those around you will be greatly enhanced by leaving the headphones at home or in the car. Running headphone-free allows opportunities to develop camaraderie with your fellow runners and to enjoy everything the race has to offer. Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on course cheering you on and providing directions to help get you to the finish line.

Runner safety has always been and will continue to be a top priority for our event. Please be mindful of the other participants and respect the race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.
